Plum and Apple Crumble

Plum and Apple Crumble

Filling:

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 8-10 prune plums, sliced in half and pitted
  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional)

Crumble:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour (any type)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt (if using olive oil or unsalted butter)
  • 4 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 2 tbsp each: raisins, chopped nuts, flax seeds (optional)

Directions:

  1. Put apples and plums into an appropriately sized baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp of sugar if desired. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, raisins, nuts and flax seeds.
  3. Mix in the butter or oil.
  4. Spoon the mixture over the fruit.
  5. Bake at 350°F about 40-50 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and soft and the topping is golden brown. Serves 4-6.
