Highway Signs for BC Farmers' Markets
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Provincial Sign Program
How to Arrange Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) Approved Sign(s) for your BC Association of Farmers'
Market (BCAFM) members
- You must be a member in good standing of the BCAFM.
- Contact the undersigned to request a letter of approval from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands to forward to the MOTI District or Regional
Office.
- Download the template file
here (240 KB)
- If you are looking for a large sign on a highway it is likely to be the SU-028X.
- Take your information [hours and location of the market and where you hope to put the sign(s)], to your local
MOTI office. For Regional & District Office locations and telephone numbers, please visit
www.th.gov.bc.ca/popular-topics/maps/regiondistrictmap.htm.
- The MOTI office will assist you in choosing the correct location and in determining the size of the sign.
- Once you know the exact dimensions of the sign and which of the designs you will be using (determined by MOTI),
take these requirements to your local sign shop for construction of the sign(s).
It is the responsibility of each market to pay all the costs of the sign construction and deliver them to the
local MOTI yard. Any costs involved in installation are also to be covered by the participating market.
Your local MOTI office can give you an estimate of these costs.

[Farmers Markets signs will now be part of the official blue and
white signs in the Province. Old signs do not have to be replaced
but as they wear out the MOTI will only be putting up these signs in the future.]
