Farmers' markets operate in every type of community across British Columbia from cities and suburbs to rural communities. Markets vary in size and sophistication, from large sheltered public markets to a few farmers with their trucks parked next to each other in a parking lot or farm field. Now that's fresh!
There are several pilot programs going on that markets and vendors can get involved in. Click on the program titles below for details:
How to Arrange Ministry of Highways (MOH) Approved Sign(s) for your BC Association of Farmers' Market (BCAFM) members.
The Farmers' Market Nutrition and Coupon Pilot Project (FMNCP) — Markets can apply to participate and get coupons to help disadvantaged women eat healthy.
To Honour the Past … Celebrate the Future of Farmers' Markets in British Columbia. Participating markets will celebrate BC's birthday with a 'feastival'.
Helping You Connect With BC Chefs! A co-operative marketing initiative that facilitates business relationships between BC farmers' markets, vendors and chefs. The program is helping to stimulate sales relationships between participating vendors and chefs...
From October 1 to 31, 2008 all BCAFM members are invited to join the third Eat BC! province-wide promotion. In 2008 we are expecting up to 200 restaurants, retailers, universities, hotels, farmers' markets, hospitals and others to promote locally grown and processed foods using the Eat BC! theme.
