Description:

The market is an old-fashioned, country-style market selling fresh, locally grown farm and garden produce, home baking, honey, soap, woodcrafts, jewellery, and a variety of original items hand-crafted by local artisans. Enjoy hot food and drinks in the sunshine, listening to the live music on our Open Mic Stage. Children's play area and Pony-cart rides. Livestock is present on occasion for sale and display. Produce is grown without pesticides or herbicides and the market supports sustainable methods and the humane treatment of animals. Information on local food and farming issues is available. The market has a community focus and was created and built by its members and has been running since 1987. New farmers wanted and welcome! Powell River is Canada's first "Genetically Engineered-free Crop Area". Join us indoors at the Community Resource Centre on Saturdays from October to April.
