Shopping Tips

If you have any tips or ideas you would like to share with your fellow Farmers' market shoppers that can be added to the following, please don't hesitate to send in your comments.

  1. Bring a wagon or device on wheels to carry all the items that you buy at the farmers' market. (One lady brought her suitcase on wheels to hold a 25lb bag of carrots.)
  2. Put a cooler in your car to keep food items cool when you buy at the market but won't be going home until later on in the day.
  3. Make sure you walk the entire market before you make any purchases to check out prices first.
  4. Buy your heavy items, like produce, at the end of your market visit.
  5. Remember to take your extra plastic bags (with handles) to the market. Some vendors really appreciate being able to recycle them.
  6. Use a large cloth bag or a basket as your market bag so you don't get overloaded with plastic bags.
